On July 18-19, the "2026 Longyou Matcha (Rolling Tea) Production Tea Garden Management Technology Training Course" was successfully held in Longyou, jointly organized by the Longyou County Agriculture and Rural Bureau, Longyou County Science and Technology Bureau, Longyou Tea Industry High Quality Development Team Science and Technology Commissioner, and Zhejiang Agricultural Talent Workstation, co organized by the Longyou County Yellow Tea Association, and jointly organized by Zhejiang Longyou Minghuang Yellow Tea Development Co., Ltd. and the Hangzhou Tea Research Institute Expert Workstation (Minghuang) of the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives. More than 100 tea enterprise leaders and large-scale growers from various towns and villages in the county gathered together to "recharge" and store energy in this "timely rain" training, injecting strong power into the Longyou matcha industry to extend and supplement the chain, improve quality and increase value.

Leading enterprises drive, Minghuang Company assists in industrial upgrading

The organizer of this training, Zhejiang Longyou Minghuang Huangcha Development Co., Ltd., is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zhejiang Minghuang Natural Food Development Co., Ltd., a national key leading enterprise in agricultural industrialization. Mr. Fu Zhusheng, the chairman of the company, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Zhejiang Minghuang was founded in 1992, with an annual production capacity of 3000 tons of instant tea. Its products are exported to countries and regions such as Europe, America, Japan, Southeast Asia, etc. It has a core tea garden base of more than 100000 acres, a provincial-level key agricultural enterprise research institute, and a provincial-level postdoctoral workstation, and has passed multiple international certifications. In the local area of Longyou, Minghuang Company has built a 400 acre yellow tea planting base and a modern production plant of over 20000 square meters. It has four production workshops for famous tea, steamed and dried green tea slices (ground tea), beverage tea, and matcha, creating the yellow tea brand "Qianlong Huang". It has developed from a single tea extraction product to a full tea industry chain of famous tea, refined tea, matcha, substitute tea, and deep processed tea, with a daily production capacity of 1 ton of ground tea. By 2025, the company will drive the total sales of various tea products to exceed 4 billion yuan.

Minghuang hopes that through this training, in the context of increasingly fierce competition in the traditional premium tea market and continuous compression of profit margins, Longyou tea enterprises and farmers can seize the opportunity of strong demand and high added value in the matcha and ground tea markets, support the development of tea deep processing industry with high-quality ground tea raw materials, and work together to expand Longyou matchas characteristic industry.

Learn to apply,From the classroom to the tea garden

The training adopts a "theoretical teaching+on-site teaching" mode. Experts not only analyzed the path of high-quality development of Chinese matcha and the production and sales situation of Zhejiang tea from a macro level, but also delved deeper into the micro level, providing systematic lectures on the pain points of the entire industry chain, such as the selection of suitable varieties for matcha, organic tea garden management, green prevention and control of harmful organisms, and export compliance requirements. At the tea plantation in Luojia Township, experts provide on-site guidance on key aspects such as shading, fertilization, harvesting, and raw material inspection. I used to be a bit uncertain about tea garden management and green prevention and control, but this time after listening to the experts explanation, I have a complete understanding! "The sentiment of a large-scale participant in the training expressed the feelings of many students.

Technology Empowerment,One Leaf"Value Added Eight Times"

Currently, tea consumption is iterating from traditional brewing to new tea drinks. Matcha and ground tea are the core raw materials for deep processing, and the market demand is strong. However, the high production standards also pose technical bottlenecks for many tea farmers. In response to this pain point, Minghuang Company is based on the needs of the industry, actively building learning platforms, and cultivating local matcha planting backbone talents.

In the modern factory of Minghuang Company, technological empowerment is revitalizing this leaf. The company has a 400 acre yellow tea planting base, with four production workshops for famous tea, ground tea, matcha, etc. The daily production of ground tea can reach 1 ton. In order to adapt to market changes, Minghuang Company also invested 5 million yuan to comprehensively renovate the tea rolling and matcha production lines, achieving standardized operations from picking, withering to tea rolling.

In terms of agricultural cooperation, Minghuang Company has innovatively launched the "I have a yellow tea that grows in Longyou Luojia" tea garden adoption project, implementing the "adoption enterprise+brand company+village collective+farmers" model. By building the first yellow tea instant powder production line in the province, the value of each kilogram of fresh leaves has increased by 8 times. Currently, the planting of yellow tea in the county can drive an average annual income increase of 6000 yuan per farmer, truly achieving the common prosperity of the entire tea industry chain of "eating dry and squeezing clean".

From Fangshan tea in the Northern Song Dynasty to the current new track of matcha, Longyou yellow tea has become an irreplaceable characteristic resource with its unique quality of high amino acid content. The successful holding of this training is a vivid practice of Minghuang Company as a leading enterprise rooted in grassroots and serving the industry.

In the future, Minghuang Company will continue to leverage the research advantages of provincial key agricultural enterprise research institutes and postdoctoral workstations, deepen intelligent transformation such as digital twins, and continue to accumulate experience in full process digital control. By cultivating a group of local talents who understand technology, management skills, and adhere to standards, Minghuang will help Longyou Matcha break through the key link of standardized raw material production, promote the industry to leap from "selling raw materials" to "selling standards and brands", and contribute more "Minghuang power" to the high-quality development of Longyou tea industry.
